England set-up not a ‘lazy environment’ – Buttler
England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has dismissed claims that the team’s set-up is a ‘lazy environment’, stating that the players work hard and are constantly pushing themselves to improve.
Buttler’s comments come in the wake of England’s recent series defeat to India, where they lost both the Test and T20 series.
“It’s not a lazy environment at all, it’s a very driven environment where players are constantly challenging themselves to be better,” Buttler said in a recent interview.
The 31-year-old acknowledged that the team had not performed up to expectations in the recent series but insisted that they are committed to bouncing back stronger.
“We know we didn’t play our best cricket against India, but that doesn’t mean we are a lazy team. We are determined to learn from our mistakes and come back stronger,” he added.
Buttler’s words were echoed by England head coach Chris Silverwood, who emphasized the hard work and dedication shown by the players in training sessions.
“The players have been working tirelessly to improve their skills and fitness levels. They are a committed bunch who are always looking to push themselves and raise their game,” Silverwood said.
England will now shift their focus to the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh, where they will look to put their best foot forward and get back to winning ways.
Buttler’s reassurance that the team is not in a ‘lazy environment’ may come as a relief to England fans, who have been disappointed by the recent results.
With Buttler and the rest of the team showing a strong determination to bounce back, England will be hoping for a change in fortunes in the upcoming series.
